RCA SQUAD GOALS ! # Tip of the Week! #Successful Tips on Working from Home.

If you are in a situation where you are able to work home here are some tips to stay focused and be productive and know it will be OK!

  1. Do not alter your routine! Get up the same time you always do, work out ,have your coffee, shower, do whatever your normal routine is as if you were going to your job.
  2. Get dressed for the day like you would if you were going to work. When you feel great and feel your best  you are most productive.
  3. Have children and need to keep them busy while you stay focused on the computer or have a virtual meeting?  Have a game plan and prepare. Have a project all laid out for them to do. A chapter for them to read in a book. Maybe it is as simple as draw me this picture  so i can put on the fridge. This might also include on preparing this the night before  so you are ahead of the game the next day create a schedule and stick to it . Make a list up for the next day on projects and things for the kids to do so you are ready when they are done and maybe once they complete 5 projects they get 1 hour of internet or a movie they can watch ? Think of some great rewards to make them want to do these tasks you are providing for them , keep it fun!!
  4. Keep the blood flowing! Every half hour get up away from your desk/table / whatever your laptop or computer is on  and stretch for 5 min, the more you move and keep the blood flowing the more focused you are.
  5. Drink lots of water and yes snack every 3 – 4 hours
  6. Lunch time ! Take your normal hour no more no less. Enjoy your food – and fuel up ! Lunch with the family – not a problem ! Again the night before plan this into the schedule  you are creating for the day and stick to it – maybe make it fun and put on a large sheet of paper  Lunch for today is ……………. And have the time frame  from 1 – 2 pm then kitchen is closed!! Well until  snack time
  7. Back at the computer and fueled up and focused for the rest of the day –  snack, stretch and drink plenty of water
  8. The day is  over ! You did it and got a lot done . Time to get dinner ready and enjoy the rest of the night!
  9. Alone for dinner and feeling the effects of isolation  – its OK and breath  -and know  it will be OK and this will pass – take this time to reflect on the things you are thankful for, maybe face time a friend and eat together – you can still make virtual dinner plans! Or just take this time for you  – read your favorite magazine or book – watch your favorite movie or show. Maybe keep a diary and write your thoughts in it every night – getting it out on paper helps – draw  – write – whatever you want it is your book !
  10. Dinner with family! Lets all put the phones down and talk to each other , talk about the day  , how is everyone doing, does anyone have questions or need to talk about what is happening? It is OK to ask and talk about it –  and also talk about tomorrow  – let them know tomorrow we will have a new schedule  of activities or work to be done and we are going to be doing this until you let them know everyone is back in school and work .
  11. Dinner is over  – change your clothes and get comfy – relax –  Allow yourself to watch 1 hour of news because you  need to be informed but also don’t only watch the news  or social media –  take a break you have to  otherwise you will not be at your best mentally and physically to get through –  Too much of this can cause anxiety or depression. It is OK to be scared – everyone is  – the best you can do is be your best – stay positive and do what you can. We will all get through this, stay informed, be safe but don”t obsess over the negative it is out of your control so do what you can.
  12.  Know today you have been your best and done your  best for you and your family. Wind down and make up your schedule for tomorrow – yes I know it seems like a pain but  I promise it helps get through having a plan of action.
  13. Bed time !!!! Yup get your 8 hours – just cause your working from home doesn’t mean sleep late or get less sleep -So wash your face , brush your teeth, and  say a prayer or two or three ! Never loose touch with who or what you believe in, be kind and thankful even when it is tough times and it is hard to stay positive because tomorrow is another day! and you are going to do great!
